My name is Chris Eppler and I was the preacher for the Corrigan church of Christ from January 2004 to October 2007.  I was hired to take the position vacated by brother Fink when he became too ill to continue the work in Corrigan.  Unfortunately, I just had the pleasure of knowing brother Fink for about three years.  I always enjoyed the opportunities I had to visit with him.  He made it very clear that he loved God, His word, and the hope of Heaven.  He rarely referenced his Bible as “my Bible”, but rather he would say, “my Sword”.  Brother Fink was truly convinced of the fact that the Gospel is our weapon against the forces of evil and that It is the power of God for salvation.  After his passing, it was told me by Nita (his wife, for whom he also was very clear about his love)  that brother Fink asked that his library be divided amongst his sons and between two young preachers, Jeremy Ferguson and myself.  I will always remember brother Fink and this final act of kindness toward me.  It was my pleasure to take some of the sermon material that he gave to Jeremy and I and compile this electronic sermon book from which other preachers may gain some ideas.

If there are types of preachers, I suppose we could classify brother Fink as a “transparency preacher”.  This was a time consuming endeavor upon which Nita, no doubt, witnessed him spending countless hours. Each transparency was put together with alphabet stickers and color was added with transparency markers.  I consider his transparencies to be skeleton sermons.  They do not have his complete thoughts, but are excellent for sermon ideas and related passages.  In all there are 129 sermons.  The sermons are in .pdf format which can be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows, and Preview on the Mac.  I have also included a scan of one of his transparencies so that the reader may be able to visualize how he presented his sermons.
