Carroll served as a deacon in two churches and as an elder in Brea, CA where he preached on Sunday for congregations who needed a preacher. He was, during this time, employed as a tile sitter. After preaching in Tennessee for seven years, Carroll moved back to Livingston with the idea of retiring and doing some fill in preaching. However, it was not long before he was back preaching full-time for the church in Corrigan. Carroll and Nita worked with the church in Corrigan for 9 years, from 1994-2003. In 2003, Carroll was forced to retire due to health problems. At that time, Carroll and Nita began to worship with the church in Livingston once again being close to their home. On September 20, 2006, brother Carroll Fink left this life and went to claim his reward.
